What’s The Truth About The Blind Side? Michael Oher Claims He Was Duped By “Adopted” Parents
Former NFL player Michael Oher, whose life story became famous from the Oscar-winning movie The Blind Side, is revealing his true story. Oher claims that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy never adopted him and instead were tricked into signing a conservatorship document that gave them power over his business decisions.
Now the Tuohy's are clapping back, saying that Oher asked his "adoptive family" for $15 million not to go public with claims they tricked him, according to the family's attorney.
Blindsided
Through their legal representative, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy said there is no credibility to Oher's claims he was fooled into conservatorship and that his claims that the couple and their children made millions off his life's story are false.
Their lawyer also said that Oher has repeatedly threatened to "plant a negative story" about the Tuohys in the media if they give him an eight-figure check.
"Over the years, the Tuohys have given Mr. Oher an equal cut of every penny received from 'The Blind Side,'" attorney Marty Singer said to TMZ.
"Even recently, when Mr. Oher started to threaten them about what he would do unless they paid him an eight-figure windfall, and, as part of that shakedown effort refused to cash the small profit checks from the Tuohys, they still deposited Mr. Oher's equal share into a trust account they set up for his son."
Whether the Tuohy's did or didn't adopt Oher, the feel-good story is now a cautionary tale nightmare.
