Uncle Shay Shay Hints At A Return To TV “Soon” But Where Will He Land?
Shannon Sharpe let it be known that he will be back at somebody's daytime television desk soon.
The Hall of Fame tight end said farewell to FS1's "Undisputed" last Tuesday but reassured the world that he will be back somewhere "soon."
"l'm enjoying my early morning workouts, late breakfast, and break from wearing a suit every morning…but just for a little while," Sharpe posted on Twitter.
"I'll be back on [TV] in the mornings soon."
To reiterate his point, Sharpe sent a thumbs-up emoji to a user asking if he'll be back on television soon.
Uncle Shay’s Return
Still, the 54-year-old did not disclose his next to get back on the air. Sharpe's last "Undisputed" aired after the 2023 NBA Finals.
The former co-hosts had immense tension over the last few months over various issues. They had intense conversations where the frustration was evident before Sharpe ended his seven-year run with Bayless the day after the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in Game 5. Sharpe joined FS1 in 2016, which was two years after exiting CBS.
Per reports, Sharpe had a champagne toast backstage and told his team, "It's not the end, but the beginning."
Everybody Loves Shannon
Other popular sports analysts and commentators from rival cable sports networks have been showing their support for Sharpe and the want for his talents on their platforms.
NFL analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky replied to a Sharpe video on Twitter with a Dr. Evil meme and the caption, "Come join us!" a not-so-subtle request for him to consider ESPN.
Although Sharpe liked the tweet, he kept his silence with no details shared. Everyone wants to clique up with Shannon, from Pat McAfee to Stephen A. Smith, but where he will land is the mystery.
