Slow Down “Suga”! Sean O’Malley Wants Smoke With Tank Davis

"Suga" Sean O'Malley shocked the world this weekend when he took out reigning UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling to become the new champ at UFC 292 in Boston.

After a lackluster first round, O'Malley caught Sterling with a right hook early in the second round that sent him to the mat and followed with hammer fists that met their mark and made the referee stop the fight.

O'Malley defeated Sterling at the 51-second mark in the second round.

Afterward, a confident O'Malley reflected on the win and picked a new target outside of the cage, boxing superstar Gervonta "Tank" Davis.

"I also wouldn't mind knocking out Gervonta Davis, and I know people are gonna go, 'Ahh, you want to be Conor (McGregor)," he said at the post-fight press conference. "I'm telling you, that fight is going to happen."

Davis didn't respond to the call, but his last opponent, Ryan Garcia, let it know what he thought of O'Malley's unconventional proposition.

"SUGA Sean you are good and all but stop talking about this I'm going to box stuff," Garcia tweeted. "You'll just get knocked out."

However, in the MMA world, O'Malley received co-signs from other champions of his newfound fame.

“It could have gone for a little bit longer, but it would have been bad,” Adesanya said on his YouTube channel. “He was just on. He was standing over him – clean finish.

“Destiny,” Adesanya said. “That’s destiny, man. What did I say? I said he’s going to touch him. He’s going to knock him out. Take the moment in, son. It’s called destiny, man."

Whether O'Malley will get his boxing dreams fulfilled is uncertain, but right now, he is living in the moment as MMA's new "It" guy.
