Jim Harbaugh Praises Penn State’s ‘Excellent QB’ Drew Allar

Jim Harbaugh had high praise for Penn State QB Drew Allar earlier this week.

The Michigan Wolverines will enter Beaver Stadium this weekend to take on the Penn State football team. The Nittany Lions who sophomore quarterback Drew Allar leads are looking to pull off a major upset on Saturday. But before we get to the matchup, we’ve heard both coaches share their respect for individual players. James Franklin has mentioned his respect for JJ McCarthy and the rest of the Michigan Wolverines. At the same time, Jim Harbaugh has recently shared similar feelings for Drew Allar and the Nittany Lions.

Jim Harbaugh compliments Drew Allar calling him “an excellent QB”

The Penn State football team is looking to pull off a significant upset this weekend. In order to do this, Drew Allar will need to play a near-perfect game.

Thankfully Allar is coming off one of the best games of his career against Maryland over the weekend. Allar completed 25 of 34 passes for 240 yards and 4 touchdown passes with no interceptions.

When Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about Allar he had nothing but great things.

Harbaugh said, “[Drew Allar] has been good,” Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh said on Monday. “You can see all the improvement. Prototypical guy. Tall, smart, got great stature in the pocket. Very athletic, strong. He’s hard to get down on the ground. Courage — he stands in there and throws it. [Allar] is an excellent quarterback.”

Will Jim Harbaugh coach against Penn State this weekend?

The million-dollar question this week in college football is, will the Big Ten hand out punishment to the Michigan football team for their alleged sign-stealing? According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, a decision could be made public as early as today on the status of Jim Harbaugh and his staff with any possible suspensions.

It will be interesting to see how strong the punishment is and how soon this will take effect. Regardless, Penn State needs to be prepared to play a very talented Michigan team with or without their head coach.
