BREAKING: Penn State Football Lands Top 2025 QB Prospect
Early National Signing Day is almost upon us for the 2024 recruiting class for the Penn State football team. But, James Franklin is focused beyond the 2024 cycle. The Nittany Lions have been building its 2025 recruiting class up the most since the 2023 season began. Now, one of the most important puzzle pieces has fallen into place as quarterback Bekkem Kritza has made his commitment to Penn State.
BREAKING: Penn State football lands top 2025 QB prospect
Bekkem Kritza is a 6’5 182 pound quarterback from Boulder, Colorado. He is listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 1 player in Colorado in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247sports. He was on campus this past weekend for an unofficial visit during the Michigan game, and State College made a major impact on this player. Kritza held offers from Miami, Colorado, Colorado State, Kansas, and Penn State.
He is currently the lone quarterback commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, but I wouldn’t be surprised if James Franklin looks to add another prospect before next December to bulk up the room.
Mike Yurcich’s impact on the QB room
It’s time to address the elephant in the room. Mike Yurcich is no longer with the Penn State football team after he was fired on Sunday. However, he is the one who helped the Nittany Lions recruit and land Drew Allar, Jaxon Smolik, Ethan Grunkemeyer, and now Bekkem Kritza.
So, should Penn State fans be worried about losing their top QB prospects? My answer is no. No disrespect to Mike Yurcich, but players were not coming to play quarterback here because of his track record of getting players to the NFL or anything like that. James Franklin is still here and that’s what matters the most in the world of recruiting, in my opinion.
