Errol Spence, Jr. and Terence Crawford finally hit the road to promote their July 29th showdown in Las Vegas to crown the first-ever undisputed welterweight champion in the four-belt era.
LaVar Arrington had the opportunity to talk with both fighters at their Los Angeles media stop, and Var had a candid conversation with Crawford's trainer Brian "Bo Mac" McIntyre.
Bo Mac was confident about who made the fight happen and who didn't want it to get made.
Bo Mac Keeps It Real
"The simple fact, 90 percent of the motherf***ers didn't want this fight to happen, and by Bud being steadfast and being committed to the game, his game, and putting his foot on the pedal, picking up the phone and calling this dude," BoMac stated emphatically to LaVar Arrington during the promo for an extraordinary upcoming Conversations With A Legend.
LaVar pushed BoMac to get to what he was really trying to say.
"So Bud made the fight? He kept the pressure on him," Arrington probed.
"Bud kept his foot on the pedal," Bo Mac confirmed.
"I'm not pressing the gas to go get my a** whipped. So if I'm putting my foot on the gas to go get this...," LaVar said setting up Bo Mac with the lob.
"I'm going to be great," BoMac finished the sentence for LaVar for the slam dunk.
The Quest For Greatness
Spence, Jr. has Man Down Promotions but is signed to Premier Boxing Champions as the brand presenting his fights. PBC typically uses TGB Promotions as their official promoter, and the fight will be on SHOWTIME pay-per-view.
After leaving long-term promoter Bob Arum and Top Rank, Crawford is a free agent focused entirely on securing his legacy at this point in his career. Bud is already a former undisputed champion at light welterweight. He is a multiple weight-class world champion and feels he has lacked the respect he deserves in boxing. The oddsmakers agree as he is the early betting favorite ahead of their July showdown.
