Women’s Tennis Competes in Two Road Matches at Columbia and UPenn

The Penn State women's tennis team (0-1, 0-0) will hit the road for two away matches versus Columbia (2-1, 0-0) on Saturday at 1 p.m. and UPenn (3-0, 0-0) on Sunday at noon.

The Blue and White look to collect their first win of the 2024 regular season this weekend following a 4-1 loss to Kentucky.

Sofiya Chekhlystova collected the team's only singles win against Elizabeth Stevens, 6-3, 6-2. Olivia Dorner and Karly Friedland hope to expand their double partnership following a win versus No. 25 ranked Ellie Eades and Lidia Gonzalez, 6-1.

LOOKING AT THE LIONS

The Columbia women's tennis team has gained two wins this season. The team's wins were sweeps against Marist, 7-0 and 4-0. Columbia has one ranked singles player in Julia Haynes.

The UPenn women's tennis team has tallied three 7-0 sweeps against LIU, Howard, and Villanova. The Nittany Lions look to defeat UPenn for the first time since 2012.
